West Coast
You’ll find hotels and motels across Tasmania in most urban centres and towns as well as some smaller townships around the state. Generally, you can expect hotels offer comfortable, private accommodation with a private bathroom and in room amenities. You may need to be prepared to pay for additional services, such as internet, food and beverage facilities and, in some hotels, spas and retreats. City hotels with limited parking may also charge for car parking, however, most regional properties will have parking readily available.
Apartments and holiday homes are great for travelling with families, as they are self-contained and generally provide basic cooking facilities, separate bedrooms and at least one private bathroom. These are often better suited to more independent travelers though as they often won’t provide reception or guest services and may not have on site staff, unless you’re booking an apartment hotel in one of our city centres.
Many accommodation types subscribe to a star ratings program and the more established venues will be accredited with the state’s tourism industry council. The accreditation program is a nationally recognized program that assists operators and accommodation venues to provide a guaranteed level of quality.
