Cottages at Tarraleah - hand built by Tasmanian craftsmen in the 1930’s and furnished with care, these self contained, three bedroom art deco cottages are charming, warm and comfortable. Kitchen dining area and laundry are all included.
The Scholars House - back to school in the former Highland schoolhouse with hotel style rooms. Queen size bedroom upstairs (some downstairs), bathroom and sitting area downstairs with a flat screen TV and dvd. There are family and ‘less-abled’ rooms on request and everyone has access to a fully equipped laundry, a large shared kitchen and a fireside snug.
The Highland Caravan Park . Touring in Tasmania? We are on the Strahan – Hobart touring route, voted “One of Australia’s Top 10 Drives” and have powered sites, bbq, clean amenities, laundry and unpowered camping facilities.
On the Estate is the Highland Gift Store, and the Highlander Restaurant for local beer and home cooked dinners. Breakfast and lunch with the ducks at the Teez Café is a must.
Activities can be booked ahead (24 hrs notice preferred) - kayaking, guided fishing, cycling, massage, hot tub.

From Queenstown/Strahan - follow the Lyell Highway East. Just past the Tarraleah Power Station you will climb the hill and see the turn off to Tarraleah on the left. Follow this road into the village and look for the Reception building on the right next to the Cafe.
From Hobart - follow the Lyell Highway west . Approx 1/2 hour past Ouse you will see signs to turn off to Tarraleah on your right. Follow the pipes into the village and locate Reception at the bottom of the hill near the cafe.
From the North (Marlborough Highway), proceed past Bronte Park, turn left at the Lyell Highway intersection. Follow the signs to Tarraleah past the Tarraleah Power Station. Tarraleah turn off is at the top of the hill. Follow the road into the village and look for Reception on the right hand side.
Cancellation fees apply of 50% if within 7 days and 100% within 72 hours. Some activities have 100% cancellation fee - check on booking. All accommodation in non smoking and smoke taint will incur a penalty cleaning charge of a minimum two night rate.
