Tasmania's maritime climate keeps us locals celebrating each distinct season. From festivals that uphold ancient pagan rituals such as wassailing and nude beach swims (that's ancient, right?) in winter, to the natural phenomena of the Turning of the Fagus in autumn, we do love our seasons!
Summer in Tasmania is particularly active on the festival scene, with the Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race and Taste of Tasmania featuring all things yummy in the south of the state, as well as the arty, but mostly musical affair that is Mona Foma in Launceston all in quick succession.
