Willie Smith's is Australia's first certified organic Cidery, built at the farm in the Huon Valley, Tasmania where William Smith first started orcharding in 1888. The orchard is currently run by Andrew, the 4th generation of Smith family to the farm in the Huon Valley. Willie Smith's ciders use apples grown on their own farm where all the fruit is crushed, fermented, aged and bottled, making it a genuine orchard to bottle cider.
You can visit the home of Willie Smiths, Willie Smith's Apple Shed at Grove, Huon Valley, Tasmania located only 30 minutes drive from Hobart. Here they have a Cider house, distillery, apple museum, cafe and function venue.
Willie Smith's core ciders are the Organic, Bone Dry, Farmhouse Perry and more recently Traditional which incorporates heritage cider apples. Willie Smith's also now uses it's cider to make Charles Oates Fine Apple Brandy using a hand made Charentais Alembic Still based on the design developed in Congac, France to make Calvados (Fine Apple Brandy).
